  • Del Rey’s ‘Born to Die’ mixes drama, boredom

Every year or so, an artist comes out of nowhere and becomes one of the most talked-about musicians. Late last year, that artist was Lana Del Rey, whose "Video Games" blew up on the Internet, creating interest in her debut "Born to Die.

  • Great graphics AWOL in new Call of Duty

All I hear these days is how Call of Duty games are the greatest thing ever. I always see people playing the game. Now they even have Call of Duty lanyards and shirts. I'm very much a fan myself, but this newest installment from Activision just did not do it for me.

He followed that up in August with another free album, "Thursday," and followed that up with another free album, "Echoes of Silence," in December.

  • Milking 'Underworld' franchise

"Underworld: Awakening" has a bad videogame story. Yes, it is a movie, but that distinction is the exact reason why it fails. If you're an avid video gamer, you know what I'm talking about: These types of stories are created solely for the purpose of giving the player many "cool" action moments.
