## **About GM Student Corps:**

GM does well by doing good\. We believe strongly that our future business and society depend on today's bold actions\. We started the GM Student Corps, a comprehensive personal and professional development program for Southeast Michigan high school students, in 2013 with the goal of preparing students to tackle today's challenges and become tomorrow's leaders\. Each summer, the program hires teams of high school students and pairs them with GM retirees and college interns\. For 10 weeks, these teams operate as small, semi\-autonomous business units to identify, plan and execute service projects to make a positive impact in their communities and schools\.

In this unique role, college interns have the opportunity to make a great impact in the metro\-Detroit community, while simultaneously preparing for their own future professional careers\. Interns are assigned to a high school team where they will partner with two GM retirees to lead a group of 10 students\. Interns play a crucial role in the program, as they co\-lead these community\-focused projects, while teaching critical life skills and helping students determine their next steps to achieve their post\-high school goals\.
