We Are HiringWork Schedule: 6 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday thru Friday; may work Saturday and/or holidays.
May be required to work other shifts near the end of the training program.
Each year we post 2 Intern positions for the Histotechnology Training Program. Selected interns musts be submitted to Indiana University by the end of April in order for the students to be enrolled for the Fall Semester at IUPUI.
What You Will Do
Under direct supervision, learn to perform laboratory testing of patient specimens in one or more sections of a laboratory.
* Perform diagnostic/analytic testing of specimens. Interpret, document and report test results.
* Perform quality control testing, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
* Verify analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity and reference ranges for test methods.
* May rotate through or observe other areas of the laboratory. Perform routine clerical duties as required by the department and maintain work area.
* Notify appropriate personnel of unusual problems, such as unacceptable specimens, variation in specimen information, and equipment malfunction.
What You Will Need
Education:
* High school diploma/GED required.
* Enrolled in degree program specific to discipline.
* Associates degree with coursework in math, chemistry, and biology preferred.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
