For the race enthusiast we are also the home to Motorsports and accessories which provides a large contribution to the revenue of SSM. SSM is responsible for all of GM's marketing groups- from auto shows, to new vehicle launches. SSM has a mix of sales, support and analytics- see what drives GM.About This Role:As a member of the Global Marketing, Corporate Brand team, you will help rally those inside the company and out around this brand vision. This role is not just about watching and learning-you will be helping to define brand strategy, review marketing tactics and messages, analyze effectiveness, and bring large-scale campaigns to life. Our team is highly collaborative and strategic-we encourage creative thinking and big ideas. In partnership with multiple groups across the organization, you will be an active part of pushing the limits of traditional marketing by finding newer and better ways to inspire with our brand story.Responsibilities:The position with report to the Global Marketing Manager, General Motors Corporate Brand, and responsibilities will include:Assist in managing marketing projects (i.e., print collateral, video, print/digital advertising, event materials, out of home, etc.) by communicating appropriate project information, conducting ad hoc research, working with multiple teams to secure vital approvals, and reviewing materials for accuracy and adherence to our strategyUsing research and metrics, help brainstorm and improve creative marketing tacticsHelp maintain the General Motors corporate brand internally by identifying off-brand materials, answering questions about meeting brand standards, and helping colleagues locate brand assetsSupport global naming consistency efforts by helping to maintain and socialize a database of name decisionsReview website analytics and design recommendations to help drive improvements on GM.comAdditional Qualifications:Currently pursuing a degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, Communications or related field from an accredited university or collegeMust have a minimum of a 3.0 overall GPA on a 4.0 scaleFreshman status or aboveDemonstrates leadership in field of study, extra-curricular activities or service organizationsAble to work full time - 40 hours per week during the summer monthsDesired Skills:Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization as neededExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex subjects to a wider audienceEmerging partnership and collaboration skills and ability to learn from and share knowledge with co-workers in a fast-paced environmentHigh level of integrity, ability to deal with ambiguity, takes initiative/self-directedEvidence of strong character with integrity, honesty, accountability and trustConsistently demonstrates innovative thinking that is customer-centricInterest in corporate brand strategy and marketingCuriosity with a questioning personality, a drive to make things work better and desire to learnCreative thinking with an ability to approach problems from multiple perspectivesCommunication skills to clearly and concisely share information with multiple teams across GM and our partnersPositive attitude and the ability to remain optimistic in the face of ambiguity or project road blocksFamiliarity with popular social media platformsProblem solving ability, including metrics- and data-driven thinkingRelationship builder who is comfortable working with different personalitiesHighly organized and able to juggle multiple deadlines and projects at onceTechnical skills-comfortable with MS Office suite and open to learning internal software and databasesPLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU DO NOT NEED SPONSORSHIP TO WORK IN THE UNITED STATES NOW OR IN THE FUTURE.
