We believe that creativity sparks innovation and inspires our employees to think of VMware differently and change the world around them.Job Role and Responsibilities:The Inside Solution Engineering (ISE) Intern will lead a strategic VMware partner-focused initiative to ensure increased partner engagement for the Commercial Inside Sales (C2) team located in Austin, TX. A major focus for the C2 (small- and medium-sized organizations) segment is to strategically leverage partners across all sales opportunities, leading to a strong focus on the ISE team to engage with and leverage partner SEs whenever possible and understand why those partner SEs are not engaged in opportunities. The ISE Intern will track partner knowledge within the ISE team, understand the ISE team s ability to identify and position the correct partner SE by solution, and identify barriers to the partner strategy. This intern will make recommendations to help correct issues in the field and verify that metrics are in place to measure ISE/partner engagement.As an intern, you will be exposed to the technical sales life cycle of C2 accounts, the process of co-selling solutions with partners, and the complexity of the GTM in the commercial space. You will create and customize presentations based on analysis gathered from interviews, operational data, and discussions with ISE and partner SE teams. Your work will shape and influence the strategic direction of the ISE and Partner Organizations. You will have the opportunity to work closely with ISE and pre-sales leadership in the C2 segment while collaborating with sales operations and business intelligence teams. You will attend internal meetings virtually and in-person in Austin, TX.We are seeking an enthusiastic self-starter with a visionary and inventive nature, comfortable working both independently and in a team setting. You will be an excellent communicator and should have experience in handling projects to produce results in a timely manner. Key areas of focus for this role will include:Understanding the operations and go to market of a technical software company leveraging their channel as part of their strategy.Understanding the organization and the ongoing dynamics associated with decision making, setting direction and messaging.Coordinating cross functional projects, including owning workstreams and deliverablesDeveloping analysis and reports to inform field pre-sales teams on strategic decisions and demonstrate progress against stated goalsStaying informed and on top of developments within industry and the organizationCrafting internal communications for broad distributionSupporting quarterly planning with leadership teamRequired Skills:Currently pursing a Bachelor s degree in Business in Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Instructional Design, Information Security, or related fieldResults-driven mindset with the desire to make a difference through owning high-impact programsStrong interpersonal skills, including effective communication and the ability to build relationships across an extended virtual teamSolid quantitative / analytical capabilities and interest in developing these areasEnthusiasm and positivity, with the flexibility to adapt to changing business requirementsPreferred Skills:MS Excel, Office 365 applications, Outlook and ideally PowerBI, Tableau or related systems and tools skills.
