The Detroit Pizza Bar is a Modern Trendy Eatery with full-service restaurant and bar complete with a rooftop terrace. The focus of Detroit Pizza Bar is of course pizza, offering vegan and gluten free options along with a full urban Italian menu. DPB is a hybrid between fine dining and casual dining restaurants. We seek to disrupt the urban dining model in two ways first; by offering more responsive table and customer service.


Detroit Pizza Bar will be located in the Liv|6 neighborhood. The physical address is 7316 West McNichols St, Detroit MI. This will be a 4,500 square foot commercial building, with a rooftop terrace that will service 198 patrons.


Legacy City Group has dozens of great opportunities for students to apply the techniques and skills they are learning at their university or culinary school in a real, hands-on, safe and fun environment this summer.

Taking your passion and talents to partner with us at Detroit Pizza Bar is something you will not forget. As part of our PAID-Internship this summer you will be part of the team providing great service and quality food for our guest. We believe this internship will help provide and develop you with the skills necessary to further your career in the hospitality industry.

The ideal candidates will be assisting the General manager, Head Bartender and Head Waitress in FOH operational duties at Detroit Pizza Bar. We do not believe interns exist to get coffee, file documents, or sit back and watch business work. Instead, Detroit Pizza Bar builds up future professionals whom we would be proud to hire. Our interns are actively involved in our business, gaining an inside perspective to prepare them for jobs in hospitality.

FOH Intern responsibilities and duties

  • Train in all FOH positions of the restaurants in order to have a better understanding of each position including host, waitress, barback, busser, bartender and dishwasher..

  • WOWing the guest and providing superior service.

  • Be a core team member in our high energy, bold concept, scratch restaurant.

  • Be Genuine in how you connect with others show your personality!

  • Know the menu inside and out take our guests on a culinary tour.

  • Engage with guests as they make food and beverage decisions.

  • Enter orders, deliver food and beverages, process payments.

  • Demonstrating great salesmanship

  • Complying with responsible alcohol service guidelines, including serving guests responsibly.

  • Communicates new promotions and product information to guest.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of menu items by describing food items properly.

  • Maintains company standards for quality food; serves only food that meets standards.

  • Safely handles food prep equipment such as knives, coffee maker, iced tea machine, etc.

  • Tidy up tables, counters and other bar areas.

  • Collect empty glasses and bottles.

  • Change out beer kegs and replace liquor bottles.

  • Remove trash and wipe down drink spills.

  • Refill ice bins

  • Assist the Bartenders during rush hours.

FOH Intern qualifications and skills

  • We are looking for hardworking students that are pursuing a career in Food Service Management.

  • Highly organized with a great eye for detail

  • Be a good communicator, always suggesting ideas and solutions.

  • You have a passion for learning and are eager to take on any challenge.

  • Be helpful and friendly, willing to go the extra mile.

  • Committed to Safety First and the highest quality of cleaning & sanitizing standards.

  • Willing and able to work solo or as part of a team.

  • Be relaxed, flexible and able to handle a few curve balls.

Educational Requirements

  • Currently Enrolled in a Culinary program
