Students, alums join in 5K run

The Student Alumni Association's second 5K run will take place on March 26.
The race will begin at Kassab Mall and circle through the campus three times and end back at Kassab Mall.
With a successful race last semester, association organizers decided to stage the race again.
"Anyone can join," said Vice President Angelina Vest. "You don't have to sign up ahead of time. You can just come that day and run."
In the past, runners have been student athletes, association members and regular students with no athletic background.
The 5-kilometer race will be chalked by SAA members and will be a little different than the last race to add variety.
Afterward, runners will be treated to hot dogs, fruit and muffins.
Winners will receive prices including $30 American Express gift cards and SAA Titan Passes to local restaurants.
If you don't feel like running, you can just simply watch and cheer.
SAA's goal is to promote tradition and school sprit on the campus while encouraging students to stay involved with the university after graduation.
The 5K run will take place on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
