New sub option on Livernois
A new lunch and dinner option has come to the area near McNichols campus.
Deano’s Subs opened in November along Livernois, across from the campus.
Pronounced Dino’s, it is owned and run by Deano and Etab Hak.
The sub shop offers a variety of sandwiches and other fresh foods with options for meat lovers and vegetarians alike.
It also offers a halal and kosher menu.
Prices range from $4.99 to $11.99 with an additional 10 percent discount for the University of Detroit Mercy students. (Student ID is required.)
For those who wish to dine in, the shop offers Wi-Fi.
For those who prefer to call in and order, Deano’s has a to-go menu in addition to an online menu that starts at $5.99.
Deano Hak, who describes himself as a proud booster of the University of Detroit Mercy, said his signature sandwich is the Philly Steak.
Deano’s has a standard menu but we will continue to incorporate new items, he noted.
“Over time, we plan to have other specials, discounts and perks for the students,” said Hak.
