The Detroit lacrosse team, now 0-2 on the season, will look for its first win this week on Feb. 24 against Michigan at home before a tough test against #1 Notre Dame on Feb. 27.

The Titans fell 15-6 to #11 Ohio State on Feb. 6 and dropped a close one to Mercer 9-8 in Georgia on Saturday.

Against Mercer, the Titans were led by Alec Gilhololy, the sophomore from Catholic Central, who had three goals and an assist.

Andy Hebden, a senior from Brother Rice, had two goals and an assist.

The Titans this year have had to replace lot of offense.

Gone are Shayne Adams, Brandon Beauregard, Mike Birney and Scott Drummond, who last year combined for 91 goals and 134 points.

Adams is the biggest loss.

Detroit's all-time leading scorer, he totaled 179 points in his five years at Livernois and Six Mile. The Vancouver Stealth selected Adams in the 2015 draft.

The Titans are expected to be powered by sophomore Mark Anstead, the 2015 MAAC Rookie of the Year.

Anstead has so far had just one goal and three assists on the year.

Whether this is a sophomore slump or simply growing pains, time will tell.

The leading scorer through two games has been Hebden. He has six points on the year with five goals and one assist.

Anstead and Gilhololy each have four points on the year.

Detroit has also found offensive production from junior Kyle Beauregard and sophomore Sean Birney – brothers of Brandon and Mike, who were four-year players for UDM.

The younger siblings were good for 11 and 12 points respectively last year and have each scored three points thise season.

Senior Paul Bitetti anchors the Titans on defense.

A Bethpage, N.Y., native, Bitetti was a pre-season all-MAAC first-team selection and has been on the all-MAAC first team the past two years.

He was also selected for the senior CLASS award watchlist.

So far Bitetti has registered two ground balls on the year.

Junior goalkeeper Jason Weber was also a pre-season all-MAAC selection and named pre-season all-American honorable mention by Inside Lacrosse.

Weber has a 12.54 GAA and a 50 percentage save percentage.
