Graduation makes 2017 a big year

2017 will be a big year for me, and it’s just around the corner.

With finals next week and Christmas soon after, 2017 will be here in a jiff.

2017 will be a year of major changes, as I’ll be graduating, which still hasn’t really hit me.

My younger brother will also be graduating from high school and my sister will be entering high school, which is also weird to think about.  They’re still so young in my head.

I’m so excited to graduate and get out into the working world.

People have been telling me my entire life to not rush being a full adult, but I feel like I am so ready for it.

Ever since I was little, I always thought adults were so fascinating.  It sounds kind of dumb, but the idea of living on my own and living by my own rules and not depending on my parents has always seemed like such a cool, but far away, concept.

Now, that concept is not so far and has the potential to become a reality within the next six months.

YIKES.

As I begin my job search, I can only hope that my skills will push me where I need to go.  I feel like I have been well prepared in my undergrad, but it doesn’t take away my nervousness.

After graduation, I literally have no idea what life holds for me.  Of course, I hope that I find a good job and everything works out perfectly, but there’s a lot of ambiguity right now.

I’m usually very on top of my future and I always know what steps to take next, but this is the first time that I feel slightly less prepared.

But I know I need to just take it one day at a time, and do my best to make these last few months of undergrad really count.

2017, here I come.
