Following “Kingsman: The Secret Service,” an adaption of a British graphic novel with the same name by Mark Miller and Dave Gibbons, “The Golden Circle” is a refreshing sequel in a time when most follow suit and fall short in the Hollywood mold.

It is fast-paced and colorfully alluring.

Director Matthew Vaughn continues to stylistically detail the action sequences with aggressive camera movement.

New faces are those of well-known, well-cast actors such as Channing Tatum, Halle Berry and Jeff Bridges, who all give delightful performances.

For a good portion, this picture did what few sequels do.

The character relationships were earned and believable in a world surrounded by grand theatrical violence.

Returning characters have grown and continue to grow throughout the 2: 21 runtime.

Leading man Taaron Egerton plays “Eggsy,” as he did in the first with a boyish swagger, but this time with a learned, mature overtone.

Colin Firth and Mark Strong equally shine in their roles as Eggsy’s mentors and friends.

“The Golden Circle” was a fun, enjoyable feature that sets up the series for a third installment.

I am excited to see where the series goes from this strong sequel.
