Women face rival Oakland Saturday

This is a big week for the women’s basketball team, because the Titans travel this Saturday to meet Metro Series rival Oakland University.

The women have been struggling, with only one win on the season.

But the players say they are extremely focused and excited about the upcoming game.

Last year the Titans swept the Grizzlies in a 2-0 series, so there is no question that the Grizzlies will be looking to get revenge this year.

“I am always excited when it comes to rivalry games,” said assistant coach Molly Bateman. “I am really looking forward to beating them for the fourth time in a row.”

Despite their struggles this season, they are hoping to turn things around on Saturday afternoon.

Their three game win streak versus Oakland helps them go into this game with confidence.

“I think this could be a game that really gets us going,” said junior guard Gracie Roberts. “It would be a great confidence booster and winning this game would give us that confidence we need to start our winning streak and end our season on a good note.”

With ten games remaining in the season, they are focused on finishing strong before they head into the Horizon League Tournament.
