Students can meet alumni at chili cook-off
BY JOAN-MARIE JEFFERSON / VN STAFF WRITER
If you like chili, you can get your fill on Saturday, Feb. 24, in the fitness center.
The annual alumni chili cook-off will be held there from 12:30 to 2 p.m.
The event, which requires pre-registration, is being hosted by the Student Alumni Association and Alumni Relations.
Student tickets are $10, and presidents of campus student organization get in for free.
Admission includes food, a beer and wine bar, family fun activities and a ticket to the men’s basketball game against Green Bay that day.
The cook-off winner will be announced at halftime.
Organizers say the event is an excellent opportunity for students to network with university alumni – and enjoy some delicious chili.
You can register online today, but you must pre-register by Wednesday, Feb. 14.
Student Alumni Association meets every other Thursday at 1 p.m. in Engineering 260.
The next meeting is Thursday, March 15, and free lunch is always on the agenda.
The group is open to any current student looking for campus involvement.
