How to make the most of your time at Detroit Mercy
Helpful tips from a graduating senior
We are currently nearing the end of the 2021-22 school year and grad- uation is around the corner.
I am a senior and I will soon be graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications.
I am extremely fortunate to be able to graduate from such a great school like the University of Detroit Mercy. Many do not have the oppor- tunity to go and pursue a degree in a field that they are interested in.
I have had many difficulties pursuing this degree but I have also gained many experiences that shaped me into the person I am today.
One of the biggest things I have learned is discipline.
Creating discipline for myself and sticking to it helped make me stronger-willed. It also helped me see things clearly.
I would recommend this to anyone who feels like they are struggling.
Something else that I would rec- ommend to others is to get involved on campus by any means.
Participate in different activities or joining different groups adds more thrill to your experience in college.
It helps you gain friends on campus and ultimately have fun while pursu- ing your degree.
Sometimes while doing this, you also gain more interest in things you may want to do in life.
Overall, I am extremely excited to be graduating. I feel like this will be one of the best accomplishments so far in my life.
The experience has allowed me to better myself and it’s setting a new standard for my family.
