Why I'm backing 'Big Gretch'
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has been one for the people since the day she came into office. Whitmer has done things in order to provide the residents of Michigan with the proper safety and medical protocols in order to keep the state safe while also maintaining the rights of individuals.
She takes the time to make the hard decision and chooses the route that some people may not agree with but is right at the end of the day. Whitmer has shown this on a number of occasions during the COVID-19 pandem- ic.
In the early days of the pandemic in 2020, the state went under lockdown, with businesses deemed non-essential not allowed to open. These tough decisions were being made and helped our case numbers remain lower than other parts of the country, at least for a little while.
Whitmer faced backlash and many threats to change the rules and allow people to live as they did before, but she stood her ground and did what needed to be done in order to keep Michiganders safe and protected from the virus.
While Whitmer has shown her pro- fessional side making the tough decisions she also listens to the people and connects with them to make other things possible for the greater good of the state. For example, she made it her priority to support a women’s right to choose on the issue of abortion after the Supreme Court struck down Roe vs. Wade earlier this year.
All told, Gov. Whitmer has done all she can to take care of the people of Michigan. She deserves re-election.
