'Avatar' sequel is excellent

There have been a lot new, great movies out recently, but “Avatar: The Way of Water,” might be my favorite of all time.

It’s a sequel to the blockbuster 2009 hit “Avatar,” and continues the story about the alien world of Pandora and the Na'vi, beings who appear primitive but are highly evolved.

Because the planet's environment is poisonous to Earth-dwellers, human/Na'vi hybrids, called Avatars, must link to human minds to allow for humans’ free movement on Pandora. Jake Sully, a paralyzed former Marine, becomes mobile again through one such Avatar and falls in love with a Na'vi woman.

In the midst of a bonding process, he is drawn into a battle for her world's survival, which was the plot of the first movie. The sequel opens by showing how they formed a family and are doing everything to stay together.

However, they must leave their home and explore other regions of Pandora when an old threat resurfaces.

Both of the movies are great but I really loved the sequel because the graphics are significant and it’s a very family-oriented, adventurous, and heart-felt movie. My favorite part about Avatar is how they incorporated a new tribe and characters to the movie and that they are different from them but are willing to learn their ways and culture, which is very cool and relatable to humans in the real world.  

There were still a few parts of the movie that I didn’t like, including the return of someone from the previous film, which didn’t feel realistic. There are also some very emotional moments near the end that involve the death of a major character that I quite frankly hated.

The film was and still is such a huge successful movie, amassing more than $598 million domestically and more than $1.42 billion worldwide.

Overall, I would highly recommend it for any age as it’s a great family adventure movie.
