Journal invites work from creative types

Are you a writer?

Do you like to take pictures?

Would you like to see your work in a published journal?

UDM’s student arts journal, [sic], is looking for creative writers, poets, essayists, artists and photographers for this year’s issue.

[sic] is from the Latin sic erat scriptum meaning “thus was it written.”

The journal has been around since 1992 and is ready for another year’s edition.

If you would like to submit any of your work, all written submissions need be emailed to Prof. Rosemary Weatherston at weatherr@udmercy.edu.

Contributors are asked to send submissions as a single MS Word file attachment (do not send multiple submissions in multiple files). Include your contact information, too.

No individual submission should be more than 10 double-spaced typed pages.

If you want to submit a photograph, submit images on a disc to Prof. Weatherston’s mailbox in the CLAE main office, Briggs 108. The original resolution of digital photographs and images must be at least 300 dpi.

Students who wish to email their visual submissions should contact Prof. Weatherston first to make arrangements for large file transfers.

[sic] published only in black and white, so all color images will be reproduced in grayscale.

There is no limit to how many submissions a student may make.

Submission deadline is Friday, Oct. 24.

Early submissions are welcome.

Copies of previous issues of [sic] are available outside Briggs 228 and online in the library's special collections.
