The OU-UDM rivalry officially has a name.
The “Metro Series,” presented by Trinity Transportation, was announced on Sept. 30 at the Somerset Collection in Troy.
The university with the most head-to-head victories in the academic year will win the annual Metro Rivalry Cup.
Oakland’s men’s soccer team drew first blood by defeating the Titans 2-1 in double overtime on Oct. 1. For pictures from that game, check out page 7.
The next OU-UDM matchup on the schedule is on Oct. 22 when the women’s soccer team takes on the Golden Grizzlies at Titan Field at 3 p.m.
