One UDM senior's bucket list

Midterms are finally over and spring break is only a few days away.

While many may be breathing a huge sigh of relief right about now, this part of the year is also a little bittersweet because we are now in the home stretch towards graduation.

These past three-and-a-half years have been amazing, but there are some things that I feel that I have missed out on.

As I sit writing this and watching the Academy Award Red Carpet specials, there are a few things that I think I can manage to do before May 9.

Some are obviously more realistic than others, but this is a bucket list. It doesn’t have to be practical.

- Attend some sort of sporting event: This comes as a shocker to most people. I have never attended a UDM basketball game. Hopefully, basketball season will be extended through the Horizon Tournament.

- Climb to the top of the clock tower: Not very realistic, but a girl can dream. Just imagine what incredible pictures you could take up there.

- Start some sort of campus urban legend: Step on the university seal in the middle of Sacred Heart Square and you will be dropped from your program. That would scare the living daylights out of incoming freshmen.

- Develop a case of full-blown senioritis: If you are reading this, you can see that this item will be crossed off in a little bit.

- Spend the day in a different spot on campus: Everyone has that one spot on campus where she seems to spend most of her time. Instead of spending my time studying in Briggs, I may go to the Engineering Building, for example, one day to gain a new perspective.

- Break a rule: Personally, this is a big one. I don’t know what to do since this is so out of my element. I may just break into this new phase of rebellion by driving onto campus without my parking pass.

- Jump in the fountain: Another rule-breaking moment, but one that has a signature UDM vibe to it.

- Have some sort of indication on what my plans are for next year: Grad school decisions come out soon. Fingers crossed!

- Attend a school-sponsored event: Or a non-school sponsored one. I am up for anything.

- Convince a teacher to have class outside: When it is nice out, of course. This has happened before, but I am willing to try it again. I even have a portable whiteboard.

- Perform a random act of kindness: Free coffee for everyone? While this may be a little pricey, just a simple act of kindness can make someone’s day.

- Graduate: 72 days to go!
