I received my undergraduate degree in elementary and middle level education from Central Michigan University in 2012. I then began teaching within the City of Detroit where I taught 1st, 2nd, 5th, 6th, and 7th grades. My husband's job relocated us to Fort Wayne, Indiana where I taught at a math and science magnet school teaching 5th grade. During this time I also earned my Master's degree in the Art of Teaching with a reading and literacy specialty.
