Private rooms now available at library

If you’re a student looking for a private, quiet space to study on campus, the McNichols campus Library is now offering study spaces.

In the back corner of the first floor of the library is where you’ll find the study spaces.

There are four individual rooms available for reservation as long as the library is open.

“The spaces are intended to give students private, quiet places to study, do course work or participate in virtual class meetings,” said Dean of Libraries and Instructional Technology Jennifer Dean. “Each room has a door separating it from the rest of the library, so it is okay to remove your mask while you use the room.”

Students who use the room will want to bring a laptop and headphones if needed as there are no computers in the study spaces.

“Study spaces may be reserved online in one-hour increments for a total of two hours per day during the library’s open hours,” Dean said.

Reserving the study space is easy. Visit https://udmercy.libcal.com/reserve/, pick a day and time that is available and submit your reservation.

Study spaces are available Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

You cannot access the library or study spaces without your school photo ID card.

If you have any questions or concerns, visit the library website at https://libraries.udmercy.edu/ or contact Dean at deanjl@udmercy.edu.
