Over the past year or two, vaccine and mask requirements have been a huge topic within the media.
Tens of thousands of innocent lives have been lost.
With the cases of COVID-19 continuing to rise, both local and federal government officials have enforced mandates and stricter requirements regarding moving around while unvaccinated.
There are schools requiring a vaccination and even city mandates that are starting to take place including at this university, which requires all students, staff and faculty be vaccinated before stepping on campus.
You have people at both ends of the spectrum when it comes to vaccine mandates. Some feel like the vaccination is being forced while others feel like you should be vaccinated to save lives.
Some people feel like the vaccine was a rushed process and are not comfortable with taking it.
Although it is rare, there are also side effects to the vaccine that some people are worried about.
The truth is that everyone has a right to their own beliefs and what they want for their own body.
If you feel like the vaccine is not for you, then you should not be obligated to take it.
I personally am vaccinated but I would not feel right making someone take a vaccine that they are uncomfortable with taking.
Hopefully soon the vaccines will help slow down the cases and save many more lives.
As humans, all we can do is play our part by wearing our masks, sanitizing and keeping socially distanced from each other.
